SUBMISSION TYPES
Papers :Paper submissions are individual presentations, usually concerned with conceptual, historical, or methodological issues. Papers in the basic research or applied research domains require a data attachment. Papers will be grouped into sessions by conference coordinators and a chair will be assigned to the session from among the papers’ presenting authors. All data-based and single-study paper submissions that do not fit these criteria will be rejected or reclassified as posters.
Symposia: Symposia submissions include 2-4 related papers focusing on empirical, conceptual, historical, or methodological research. Symposia in the applied research or basic research domains require a data attachment. Symposia submissions should reflect work that is well advanced and is presented in an integrated way. Work that is just beginning (e.g., only baseline data provided) will not ordinarily be approved for symposium presentations, nor will a series of individual data presentations that do not provide an integrated view of advanced work. Presentations not reaching this level may be reclassified as posters. Applied research symposia are encouraged to recruit discussants with basic science expertise to increase exchange within the discipline. Symposium submissions that do not meet these guidelines may be considered for re-assignment as posters.
Posters: Poster submissions are concise, visual displays of research methods and results that are presented as part of a poster session. Replications and new research findings are welcome. Posters must be prepared according to APA 7th ed. format. Authors must be prepared to describe their research and answer questions during poster viewing sessions. Two formats for displaying posters are offered. You may bring with you a tri-fold cardboard display that can stand up on a table top (wall space for hanging posters will not be available), or you may choose to present your work via a digital poster. Digital posters will be 5-min power point presentations, with each slide displaying for 15 s, for a maximum of 20 slides. The presentation will automatically replay at the end of the 5 min. You will need to provide your own laptop or iPad.
The digital poster template can be accessed below.
Submissions received after midnight EST September 15, 2025 will not be considered.
