FASST Board Shares Updates
The following updates were shared at the 13th International CABAS Conference
The need for high-quality behavior analytic educational services has never been greater. The critical features of a strategic science of teaching are the core of ABA programs at institutions formally or informally affiliated with the CABAS® model.
Over the past several years the focus of the CABAS® Professional and
Organizational Standards committee has been to establish oversight of its credentials and credentialing process within the Foundation for the Advancement of the Strategic Science of Teaching. Some students have already been affected by changing university priorities.
Students should be assured of FASST’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and quality of our CABAS® programs and supporting all who wish to obtain and maintain the appropriate credentials associated with a strategic science of teaching. The FASST website (fassteaching.org—coming soon) will provide up-to-date information regarding individuals with validated CABAS® credentials, the requirements to obtain, maintain and advance CABAS® credentials, and identify institutions of higher education with vetted affiliations to the CABAS® model.
The faculty and research scientists of FASST hold advanced CABAS® ranks and PhD expertise as well as robust research contributions to the strategic science of teaching, learning, and verbal development. In addition to CABAS® professional certification and organizational accreditation, FASST, in conjunction with approved affiliated institutions, will continue to provide CABAS® credentialing, courses, continuing education events, and conferences. Our mission continues to thrive.
